Personally I enjoy decks with clever names. There seems to be a very Darwinian process when it comes to naming decks. The good names that people like tend to stick while the bad ones fall by the wayside.
There’s even evolution in deck names. Take R/W aggro decks for example. Right now we call it Boros Bushwacker but if you go back to Tempest era R/W aggro decks were called PT Jank. PT Junk got it’s name from those decks even though the actual decks were very different. Now B/G/W decks tend to simply be called Junk. Thanks to Ravnica you’ll probably never hear the name Jank again because it’s been replaced by Boros.
As bad as cascade can be I don’t think it’s the real problem I have with Jund. If cascade was that overpowered there would be more than just Jund running around making Standard a boring format. My biggest problem is Blightning. So many decks that I would like to play are completely invalidated because of Blightning. Not that Blightning itself is overpowered, but in tandem with cascade and generally high powered cards Jund has access to it’s just hard for a lot of otherwise interesting decks to compete.

I feel like as long as creature creep gets strong and spell power weakens it’ll always be tier 2/3. Interestingly enough a howling mine version went 4-2 at worlds. The player was japanese of course. : )
Quite liked this one. Thanks for the info on the slang. The origin of “Rock” has been driving me nuts. Of course, now that I know, I’d rather not
