Hey Jordan let me know if you still need countersqualls. If you E-Mail me your address I will hook you up. Also I want to recommend Glaze Fiends for your deck especially if you are running Thopter Foundry. They are devastating and can outright kill an opponent if left unchecked.
check out my budget build (like $25) esper build, which is currently doing great! http://www.blackborder.com/q/node/4737
Nice episode, my favorite from your show so far. I agree with Tangent that you should try Glaze Fiend. Even in my casual artifact deck, my friends complain that it is too good for a casual game. Also, don’t buy too many packs of cards! There are 41 uncommons in Conflux and only 3 in each pack, so you have a 3/41 chance of getting a countersquall from a pack. That means that you would have to buy roughly 41 packs to get 3 more countersqualls. I suggest buying cards online, trading for them, or emailing Tangent.

cut colossus and leviathan and master transmuter–run hedgmon and also cut scourglass as it doesn’t really do anything. time sieve and open the vaults don’t really seem to do anything, and this wants to be like midrange control, and aggro. It doesn’t mesh well together. I think wall of denial will allow you to maybe come on-line before an aggro deck runs all over you, and into the roil should probably make this as well as path to exile and possibly deathmark (hits naya deck list + leech thrinax and blood braid. If you want to run the transmuter you need to be able to protect him as he is the biggest target ever, sans elvish piper. Hope this helps, yeah?
@Doug although I agree about cutting Colossus and Leviathan, I have to ask how you can say scourglass and open the vaults don’t do anything. A one-sided wrath doesn’t really do anything? Returning all the Artifacts that he previously sacked to Thopter Foundry doesn’t do anything? I like The Hedge but at 6 cost it is a little high since your goal should be to make aggressive Esper and hopefully never need that 6th land to hit the table. Plus you want to keep your 5+ cost spells to a minimum.
Ddoug thanks for the pointers i took out the transmuters and heavy creatures and added more smaller items and i added sharding sphinx witch is a easy 6 drop that makes more artifacts i can sack for time seive and helps glaze fiend
That is a good move Jordan. Sphinx is a great finisher. Unfortnately he doesn’t truly help Glaze Fiend as the Thopter tokens don’t come into play until after damage resolves so the pumping happens after the Fiend deals damage, howver the increased number of Thopter producing threats makes Coat Of Arms a viable finisher as it will pump your Thopters into huge evasive killing machines. It even makes Ornithopter playable.
The problem with scourglass is that it’s slow. That coupled with the fact that there seldom enchantments or pws in play and DoJ(which I feel is better regardless) isn’t really useful in the enviroment. But, that might just be me, as everyone loves playing tier 1 & 2 decks at fnm’s here. I also think that Hedgmon is more consistant than open the vaults, as it gives a 5/5 evasion + 1 artfact rather than a some random dorks which might not be helpful. If the gola here is to be a quick aggro deck I personally have a softspot for darklit gargoyle. Also with glazefiendand veriant cantrip artifacts are amazing as well as the Sculptors. regenerate is starting to be better, so maybe throw a fe metelurgons(sp) in there too.
On a side note if boros (or any fetch-land heavydeck)is big where you are sideboard mindlock orbs for sphinx summoners and tezzert and live the dream of turn three mindlock orb–go
I almost forgot- esperzoa (if not being run) needs to be it refuels glazefiend/veriant and is a solid better in and of itself.
Hope this helps!
One last thing: agony warps and path to exile need to happen–probably by cutting the conutersqualls
Great points Doug and he seems to be on board with a lot of that. Open the vaults is definitely not as good as the Hedge against most decks but if DOJ hits the table it makes a good sideboard addition. An open the vaults returns your entire board which is a fairly awesome ability. The Zoa is a must for sure.
