this was one of the worst episodes in a while. i’m a lot more interested when you have something tangible to talk about. this was 99% vague pointless philosophical drivel that is not helpful imo. it sounded like you were boring even each other.
Hey guys, I’ve been listening to your show for about 2 months now and I’ve started going back through the archives to catch up on all I’ve missed. I’ve been playing since Rise of the Eldrazi and drafting since Scars of Mirrodin, and I have to say that Limited is by far my favorite way to play Magic. I’ve never been fantastic at drafting, but after listening to your BREAD show I have a whole new perspective on drafting. I’m in China right now and I just 3-0′d a draft where I ended up UR with 2 Flames of the Firebrand, 2 Volcanic Fallout, 2 Turn to Slag, and a Searing Spear because of BREAD and I directly attribute my recent success to you guys.
I had a quick question, though. Where do you currently stand on Volcanic Fallout? Having 2 Volcanic Fallout in my deck really made me re-evaluate my initial impressions of the card. Sure, it isn’t great to pay 1RR to Murder 1 toughness guys, but it feels much better the more you pay for it. I understand the whole loss of value thing with paying more to kill their guy then they payed to play it, but I feel like the added versatility of being able to go straight to the face and killing big guys when you get flooded makes the card pretty valuable. I could be looking at it from a roty perspective, but I definitely think this is a higher pick than people give it credit for. Of course, there’s no way I would take it over flames or searing spear. ;D
So not true Tim =/
Very good show as usual, and Noah Weil is probably the best they can get in the mtg world together with Ryan Spain. I loved the “deep” parts.
tim, you’re way off. these are by far the most useful shows. another one i liked was playing around things episode (ep 116).
Yo guys. I really enjoy the show and I think Noah is probably my favorite guest, but I just have to say that for how much Magic Jon and Marshall play you guys are awful at remembering card names! I mean that in the best way possible
P.S. Props for the hoops mastery reference, Marshall!
