have been listening to your show since I first heard of it at the end of AVR and I first wanted to say thank you very much, and it is well appreciated by lots of people and expecially me. My skills have improved a lot but have not quite got me where I want to be yet. In saying that, here are my questions.
When you look at mana curve during drafts, how do you base your card choice order, I know the “BREAD” but do you look at curve?
When do you finilaze your colors? I tend pick the better rated cards and not worry about color till around mid second pack. Is this to late?
I really enjoyed your financial show. I happen to not have problems with money cuase I do well for myself, but am not going to lie. I drop about a grand a month on drafts, and would like to improve to not pay as much
Have you ever thought of charging for lessons online? I know its huge in starcraft, and other online games, but never heard of anyone doing it with MTG.
If you do, I would be intrested. Thanks fellas. Keep up the good work.
Marshall is correct about not wanting Replays. But I want to add/correct one thing; WotC WILL use replays for punishing the most serious cheats, but in aftermath. This probably means that a Replay will never change the standings of said tournament, even when the cheat is large. It will only be used to put a player on banned/suspended list after his finish in said tournament.
The thing about using replays while tournament still isnt finished is; It doesnt include voice (at least not well). The verbal ways MtG players communicate must be respected, with special emphasis on how any two players choose to do it (this includes non-verbal communication). No two randomly matched players necessarily communicate the same way as each of them would communicate with any other player – and some pairs of communication CAN deviate quite much but STILL be in good respect/understanding of each other. One might say that two players paint Magic when they play each other. Vid-replays might solve and help quite many situations, but the fall depth is way too large in those cases where a Replay makes the Judges call the wrong decission.
A players skill of communication is part of what brought him to that camera match, and that skill is what he brings into that camera match – THAT must be respected, AND it can be refuted by opponent via the Judge call as we know it whenever a disagreement arises.
