Re the milling question: if you grind first and then mill for 2, you win if the land is in the bottom three cards of the deck. If you mill for 2 first and then grind, you win if the land is in the top two, or the bottom one. Either way your odds are the same.
And I believe the same is true for any pattern of milling/grinding, as long as the positions of cards in the deck are all unknown. Same as how you’re always saying you’re just as likely to mill them to their bomb as to mill it away, except replace “bomb” with “land”.
Of course, if the positions of any cards are known, that changes matters… if you just cast Dimir Charm’s third mode and put back a non-land, or cast Totally Lost, then you should grind then mill 2… if they activated Domri Rade’s +1 and didn’t reveal, there’s a slightly better chance the top card is a land, so you should mill 2 then grind… I think those are the only ways in-format (except Enter the Infinite, which doesn’t matter, any mill will get there).
Brought up riot gear but no mention of the combo with metropolis sprite? Flying Frostburn Wierd FTW!!
