Why are you giving game losses at a prerelease? Especially to someone who was just being stupid? I can see doing it to someone who was trying to actually cheat, but come the fuck on. Prereleases are the closest you can get to kitchen table with an entry fee.
I love how Jayboosh says he doesn’t give a fuck about flavor and then rants about it for five fucking minutes. He needs to make up his fucking mind.
You know what you draft to stop Werewolves? Instants and cards with Flashback so that you can consistently cast spells.
Why is Jeebus so fucking draconian about rules enforcement? Did some shitty judge DQ him at his first prerelease and then piss on his cards, so he has to spread the fucking misery?
You guys obviously must not know any gay people with how often you throw that word around in a derogatory manner.
*yawn* Next…
His criticisms were valid and within reason. You and your extremely tired e-retort are lame, and neither cease to be such just because you do podcasts. You’re special, just like everybody else.
*Yawn* Next…
That’s what your Mom says, because she’s THAT blown out.
Fun fact: My gay friends use the word “fag” in a derogatory manner like 1,000x more often than I do (Except for one, who never says it).
Going to explain why you feel the need to follow the letter of the DCI rules in every case? I’m legitimately interested in how you see lenience regarding the rules.
Because judges are supposed to follow the rules to the letter. You can downgrade or upgrade penalties in EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES. “I’m a dumbass who didn’t know better” is not an extreme circumstance. Giving people the appropriate penalty is the only way they’ll ever learn.
So what, people are incapable of learning without being punished for something they had no idea was incorrect? If you follow the rules to the letter, how many kids and newbies have you given penalties to that ended up never entering a store event again because of that negative experience? At higher level events it would be their own damn fault, but a prerelease at a local store is hardly seems like the place to harp on proper tournament procedure.
Aiden are you a certified judge? Else you can’t really comment on upholding tournament rules.
I have to say Jeebus does some times does seem to be a bit penalty happy at pre-releases but it maybe that his players want the pre-release run at a competative REL rather than Regular REL. But the ones they mentioned on the show this week are perfectly warranted.
In regards to the Invitational cards and faces. Maybe WotC only wants the guy to be on the card once to be fair to everyone who has won the tournament? They don’t want to re-print every invitational card because some of them were pretty shitty, like Rakdos Augermage. Since they wont re-print them all, and want to be “fair” to all the players they aren’t going to re-use the images.
