MTG Radio Show Notes
Thanks for tuning in!
Introduction:
Beginning with an introduction from all of us involved.
Trevor: My name is Trevor and starting with the basics, normally I play Green/White, but I play magic more for the rouge deck design and intuition aspects of the game then the philosophy behind any individual color. As for my favorite cards: Brainstorm, Isochron, and Well-wisher.
Tom: Howdy, I’m Tom, favorite color is white by far, but I usually play red in constructed. Favorite card by far is Jareth Leonin Titan!
Format Talk:
Today’s format of choice, Elder Dragon Highlander.
Trevor: I started with a Jhoira Storm type combo deck but I have moved on to a Rafiq Aggro deck (list in the show notes) and it is serious fun. Top interactions: Sovereigns of Lost Alara and Rafiq with any
aura (protective bubble for the win) and Idyllic Tutor for Finest Hour makes any creature a god.
Limited Chatter:
Brief talk about limited archetypes and not being afraid to draft fast aggro decks even sometimes over removal.
Rumor Corner:
m10 edition!
Trevor: Lightning Bolt. Wow, just wow, I can honestly say the power creep in reprinting it and Ball lightning makes me want to play red. The lack of wrath, honestly shocks me, but I do like the new variant, Planar Cleansing. Also, both of these open up room for regeneration to make a comeback. New uncommon Savannah Lions makes me excited. All in all I am excited for this set. As for the duels, I actually dig them, and value their simplicity.
Tom: Variety of cards talked about such as all of the new lords, the emergence of white’s new power, ball lightning and lightning bolt. Blue getting the shaft, but gets sleep.

Good job on your guys first podcast. Actually I really enjoyed your guys talk about EDH. Being a casual player my self, I found it interesting that you guys were not just talking about tournament magic and standard. Since the EDH community is growing it would be nice to here more about different board states of memorable magic games or common EDH strategies that one may use. I find from reading the EDH forums that people tend to have a lot more trouble building a quality EDH deck, so maybe if you can go into more depth how you created your PwnSauce deck it could help some of the newer players how to design a 100 card singleton deck.
Hey guys, great podcast, enjoyed it very much. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the words of encouragement!
WE’ll definitely talk about how to set up EDH decks next week and tailoring them for your metagame (get your trick binds) and any other magic news that slips our way.
See you in a week.
Hey guys! I really enjoyed your show. As far as first episodes go, this was pretty ridiculously good. Usually first episodes are a mess, but you guys really seemed to know what you were doing. Jeez, don’t listen to our first episode over at The Mana Pool.
And having just built my first EDH deck last weekend, I agree with Oncita_Bonitas. Perhaps a bit of strategy into the actual building of an EDH deck would be a good idea.
