How will mana fixing be accomplished in draft? I think this has just been spoiled, as the cycle of common “Panorama” fetch lands - Uncommon come-into-play wedge lands, and the common “Obelisk” cycle of artifacts should provide sufficient mana fixing. I predict that the common lands will be relatively hi picks in draft. They probably won’t be as high of a pick as the Ravnica bounce. In Legacy and EDH formats, these common lands can be quite usefull with their ability to actually fetch any color of mana - given the original dual lands types.

I also wanted to mention that the flavor text of Wooly Thoctar: The only difference between a hockey mom and a Woolly Thoctar is lipstick. —- is a reference to part of the speech that Sarah Palin gave during her Vice Presidential Nomination speech… .where she said. The only difference between a Pit Bull and a Hockey mom is lipstick. I’m pretty sure that is where the reference is from.

About the flavor text and the previous post, I think the poster is right and that leads me to think that that particular Flavor text is not right. I saw that an immediatly thought that it was wrong.

Personally, I am digging the mana fixing. I (being a poor guy) like the duel comes into play tapped lands. I loved the Cold Snap version of them. I am not fond of their speed because I can’t tell you how many times I needed one more mana but could only draw a land that comes into play tapped.
The artifacts that produce one of three key mana look OK. But at three mana each, they seem to come on line to late. There are alot of three mana costed cards, so how does a turn Three artifact help you.
Finally, the fetch lands will be a nice addition especially since the come in un tapped and can be used to produce colorless mana. They will be valuable limited and causual but none of these cards are tournament quality…

    Sealed Deck
    • 2+ players
    • Each player needs 1 Tournament pack and 3 booster packs
    • Players simply open their tournament packs and the cards from three additional booster packs and build a deck from the cards they opened. Guidelines require a minimum deck size of 40 cards and allow players to add as many basic lands (Plains, Islands, Swamps, Mountains, and Forests) to their card pools as they like.

    Booster Draft
    • 4-8 players
    • Each player needs 3 booster packs
    • At the start of a Booster Draft, each player opens a booster pack and picks the card he or she wants from it. (You can't see the cards that the other players draft.) Then each player passes the rest of the pack to his or her left. You pick up the pack that was passed to you, select a card, and pass the rest to your left. This process continues until all the cards have been drafted. Next, each player opens a second pack, but this time, you pass the pack to your right. After all those cards are drafted, you open the third pack and pass to the left again.
Once all the packs have been drafted, players build decks from the cards they selected, adding as many basic lands (Plains, Islands, Swamps, Mountains, and Forests) to their decks as they like. Each deck must have at least 40 cards.
    Tribal Wars
    • One-third of every deck must be of a single creature type (e.g. "Merfolk" or "Beast")
    • Each deck must contain at least 60 cards, and players may build decks using Standard, Extended, Legacy, or Vintage deckbuilding rules.
    • You can use creatures of other creature types, but they do not count towards the "1/3 of single creature type" rule.

    Singleton
    • aka "Highlander"
    • No two cards in a player's deck can share a name unless they're basic lands (Plains, Islands, Swamps, Mountains, and Forests). Players can use Standard, Extended, Legacy, or Vintage deckbuilding rules.
