Scrubland #31 – Do They Make Blindfolds for People’s Mouth’s?

We’re drowning in Grand Prix Trials! GP: Dallas has Scrubland in Standard overload. Join us as we take a look at the most recent results from tournaments around the country, then dive in to what you should play next week!

To prove a point, Casby took a stab at putting together a deck that utilizes all the things that should be awesome in the metagame.

Gameplan:
So, in my mind this looks like a great way too address the caw menace. Turn one Inquisition is strong and 10 turn one black sources should enable this well. That said, it will often be best to do this on two or three, after they fetch up their equipment. Sparkmage/machinegun maindeck looks as if it will lend us a hand in the aggro match ups, and we are packing bolts and blades, in addition to day of judgment. I dunno if 3 days is the right number with 5 spot removal spells also. 2 may be the number we want main, to give us less dead cards vs. ub and uw. Memoricide shoud give us ample time vs. Valakut, especially if we turn one hand rape, turn two mystic for sword. Vengevines probably give us fits. Maybe we run some grave hate for vines and ghasts. Gideon is too good to ignore in our colors. Sarkhan may deserve a nod… I dunno. Making 4 hawks into 4 dragons seems ok. The titans give us a bit of big game. Red titan suited up with collar is pretty nuts, though he’s pretty nuts by himself. Sun Titan can get back a sparkmage or broken weapons. Crystal Ball may or may not be good enough. I wanted a Jace-like dig card, and since we can’t Jace, this is what I came up with. Might not be good enough. So yeah, just some food for thought….
